SECTION HISTORY

After being informed about the national organization and its initiatives,

our chartering members knew there was a need for the National Council of Negro Women on the Campus of North Carolina A&T State University.

The North Carolina A&T Collegiate Section was chartered on March 20, 2018, by 22 young women with Mrs. Bridgett Herring Williams as the Section’s advisor.

The NCAT Section of the National Council of Negro Women develops programs pertaining to health, membership, financial literacy, education, community outreach, and social injustice.

Oh How We've Grown...

In 2022, NCAT NCNW implemented the third annual Purple Project Donation Drive, earned 2021 - 2022 NCAT Student Organization of the Year, adopted Stonegate Park, adopted McConnell Road, won 1st Place in the first annual Walk Like A Sigma Competition, participated in the 2022 G.H.O.E. Parade, and inducted a total of 362 new members.

Our goal is to engage members, enlighten NC A&T students, and unite the Greensboro community.

“The drums of Africa still beat in my heart. They will not let me rest while there is a single Negro boy or girl without a chance to prove his worth.”
